An overview of TGAP

GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), is a national initiative through the U.S. Department of Education to encourage more young people to have high expectations, stay in school, study hard and take challenging courses to prepare for post secondary opportunities.

TGAP (Texans Getting Academically Prepared) is the state GEAR UP project coordinated by the Texas Education Agency. TGAP represents a statewide partnership with the Texas Education Agency and Region 13 Education Service Center, Project GRAD - Houston, Texas A&M Pre-College Outreach Centers, and AMS Production Group. Additionally, the following school districts are included in the TGAP partnership Grant--- Laredo ISD, Laredo United ISD, Jim Hogg ISD, Alice ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, and Robstown ISD.
